Good value on Monkfish

I was looking for some Monkfish Fillets and saw they had a first-time buyer discount. That really helped with the cost. Shipping was free because my order went over the amount, which was a nice bonus. The fish arrived well-packed and frozen solid. It cooked up nicely, tasted fresh. Felt like I got good value for what I paid. Would order again if there's another good offer.

Really happy with my order

I decided to treat myself to some Wild Alaskan King Crab Legs, and wow, they were really good. Delivery took about 3 days, which wasn't bad at all. Everything was packed super well, still frozen solid when it got to my door. I was a bit worried about ordering seafood online, but this was a smooth process. They tasted amazing and made for a really nice dinner. Definitely thinking about trying the Scallops next time.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows how long fish from these guys usually keeps in the fridge after it arrives? Wanna plan my meals.

S Susan T. 1 month ago
Yeah, if it's fresh, I usually aim to cook it within 2-3 days max. They pack it really well though.

I've kept some of their salmon in the fridge for like 4 days before cooking and it was still perfect. Just make sure your fridge is cold!

Can I use my new customer discount AND get free delivery if my order is big enough? Or is it one or the other?

J Jacob Sanchez 1 week ago
Nah, usually you can't stack discount codes. The free delivery gets applied automatically when you hit the threshold, but you'll probably have to pick between your first order discount or another promo code if you have one.

From my experience, if you hit the free delivery amount, that'll show up, and then you apply your single discount code on top. They don't let you use two codes at once.

Does The Fish Society deliver to, like, super rural areas? I'm way out in the sticks and some places won't ship here.

M Matt H. 1 week ago
I'm in a pretty remote part of Cornwall and they deliver to me just fine. Pretty sure they cover most of the UK. Check their delivery info page to be sure.

They even deliver to the Scottish Highlands, so I'd say you're probably good. They use special packaging to keep it cold.

Is The Fish Society actually good quality, like is it better than just buying from Waitrose or somewhere similar? Pricey so want to make sure it's worth it.

D David F. 1 month ago
Oh, way better than Waitrose for fish. The variety is insane and the quality is a step up, especially for things like scallops or wild seabass. I'd compare it more to a really good local fishmonger than a supermarket.

For me, it's the specific stuff like sashimi tuna or unusual catches they have that makes it worth it. If you're just getting cod, maybe not a huge difference, but for specialty items, absolutely.

Thinking of ordering a big haul for a party. Do they do free delivery if you spend over a certain amount, or is that only for subscriptions or something?

W William Perez 3 weeks ago
Yep, free delivery kicks in automatically once you hit a certain spend. I think it's 100 quid, but double-check.

It's definitely free delivery over 100 pounds. No special code needed, just adds itself at checkout.
